Today marks four years since I began my journey abroad. I still remember stepping onto foreign soil for the first time — carrying so many dreams, questions, and hopes in my heart.
Back when I was in my third year at the University of Chittagong, I came across writings by Rubab Imroz Khan and Laskar Kashif about doing a PhD in the USA. Those words sparked something in me — they made me believe that I too could dream bigger, that I could go further than I ever imagined.
After completing my MS, life tested me in countless ways. I changed my mind so many times about whether I should pursue a PhD at all. There were moments when I felt truly lost — questioning what I had gained, what I had lost, and what any of it meant.
In those dark moments, there were people who held my hand, stood by me, and offered their warmth without expecting anything in return. I will always be grateful to them for reminding me that I wasn’t alone.
Finally, that uncertain dream has become reality — I am about to begin my PhD in Economics at the University of Nevada, Reno. This new chapter feels like both a reward and a fresh beginning — proof that the struggle was worth it.
I humbly ask for everyone’s prayers and good wishes as I step forward. May this path be meaningful and may I never forget how far I’ve come and who helped me along the way.
